New-Line Bio 2023 Clinical Pathogen & Resistance Surveillance Report

Throughout 2023, the Shandong New-Line Biotechnology Research & Diagnostic Center received and processed 16,890 clinical disease samples across major farming provinces in China, tracking epidemiological trends in bacterial pathotypes and antimicrobial resistance:

  • Avian Samples (64.2%): Predominated by pathogenic Escherichia coli (APEC, 42.1%), Salmonella enterica (28.4%), and Clostridium perfringens (14.2%). Multidrug resistance rates to ampicillin, doxycycline, and florfenicol exceeded 85%.
  • Swine Samples (23.5%): Dominated by ETEC (K88, K99, F41, 38.6%), Streptococcus suis, and Salmonella Typhimurium.
  • Aquaculture Samples (12.3%): Primarily Vibrio parahaemolyticus and Vibrio harveyi in shrimp, showing widespread resistance to third-generation cephalosporins.

New-Line Bio leverages these continuous diagnostic insights to update our "Three Libraries, One Platform" phage strain formulations, ensuring that distributed commercial products maintain over 95% lytic coverage against currently circulating field strains.
